Entertainment customization is an element that many corporate event planners desire but may consider too costly or complicated. Actually, working with a professional event talent company from the beginning can both simplify the process and keep the costs down. Including a professional entertainment production company from the beginning of the planning process, particularly one with the knowledge and creativity to provide customization, is a great asset for meeting professionals with the goal of promoting their meeting’s message.

Our team is energized when corporate clients request our production team to create a truly unique experience for their guests. One recent T. Skorman Productions custom event performance was created for the La Quinta Inns and Suites 2016 Conference. We were pleased to be working with Ray Ramsey and Associates to bring this unique concept to life. Take a peek at the highlights from the event yourself and see the key reasons to provide custom entertainment for corporate events in action.

1. Increase Connection Between Your Audience and Mission

Adding live entertainment to an Opening General Session helps engage your guests to focus on the purpose of the conference. Custom elements communicate the highlights of that mission even further in an engaging method for attendees.

Our brains are hardwired to make connections when music is added to the picture. After your audience has dealt with the task of conquering jet lag, having their full attention at the beginning of an event can be hard with lecture alone.

La Quinta made it very clear that they wanted a Las Vegas styled act that would jolt the audience with an energetic start to the conference, while connecting to the overall message of how valuable the attendees are to the company. Their conference theme was “Go Big or Go Home,” so we knew this had to scream over the top with unexpected surprises.

That’s why one of the first custom elements the T. Skorman team nailed down was having OUR in-house music studio create a personalized song based on the American Author’s “Go Big or Go Home” that matched the message of the conference. Creating custom song lyrics is one of the best ways to get a message stuck in someone’s head long after their return trip home.

2. Customizing a Performance Often Makes Talent Decisions Easier

The T. Skorman Production team’s number one goal is to make event planners and meeting professionals lives easier when it comes to the entertainment elements of the show. Going with a customized solution lets our expert team present the best options for your client, saving you valuable time.

Our professional suggestion for meeting planners booking talent for large corporate performances: Consider asking your entertainment producers for a few “mash-up” options combining different acts. The variety really pays off for the larger crowds, and the La Quinta audience wasn’t any different.

For the conference we combined 160 performers using a variety of acts customized to the specific theme, including dancers, singers, themed actors, acrobats, grapplers, and of course about 7 different types of Elvis Impersonators – yes, those are Elvises (or is it Elvi?) rappelling themselves from the ceiling – to bring the crowd an unforgettable spectacle.

The List of Performers, For Those Trying to Keep Count:

  • 8 Singers dressed as La Quinta Employees
  • Multiple Themed Actors Including: Showgirls, Blackjack Dealers, a Shotgun Wedding, a Cocktail Waitress, a Cirque performer, a Boxer, and the Rat Pack
  • 10 Unique Professional Elvis Impersonators
  • 4 Female Elvis Impersonators
  • 4 Elvis Stilt Walkers
  • 100 Flash Mob Elvises
  • 4 Elvis Aerialists
  • 2 Little People Performers as Elvises
  • 20 Elvis Acrobats

To pull off a performance of this magnitude takes a lot of organization and creativity. From concept to execution, the many pieces of the performance needed to flow together. The T. Skorman producers, creative services, and stage managers utilized their expertise to make this custom process flow smoothly, so the client’s big decisions only needed to be “yes” or “no” throughout the process.

“When it was all said and done we left Vegas with an ecstatic client, astounded audience, and exuberant cast. The T. Skorman team – Went Big and Went Back to Work. Success!”

Paul Creighton Executive VP, T. Skorman Productions
